Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG profile image
Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stored XSS in Halo 1.0.0 through 1.4.17 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through a crafted SVG profile image. FileHandler trusts the multipart Content-Type when classifying images and stores SVG content without removing embedded executable script. An authenticated account must upload the SVG, and another user must view the stored image in the administrative interface, exposing that user's browser session to script actions.
