Stored script execution via unsanitized article titles
Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stored XSS in Halo 1.0.0 through 1.4.17 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser via an article title. PostServiceImpl accepts an article title containing script markup and stores it without neutralizing executable content before the title is rendered. A logged-in author must save the crafted title and another user must view a page that renders it, exposing that user's browser session to script actions.
