Email address enumeration via password-reset response discrepancy
Published Jan 10, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Observable discrepancy in NocoDB 0.9 through 0.83.8 allows remote attackers to enumerate registered email addresses through password reset. RestAuthCtrl returns an explicit error when its user lookup finds no matching email, while registered addresses proceed to the reset flow. No authentication is required; repeated requests reveal which addresses belong to accounts without exposing passwords or changing data for nonexistent addresses.
