System-level code execution via crafted SMI

Improper input validation in ASUS Mini PC BIOS allows local users with system privileges to execute arbitrary code through a crafted SMI. Public disclosures identify the system management interrupt path and resulting memory modification, but do not identify the firmware handler or the input check it performs incorrectly. Exploitation requires existing system privileges and can give control of the machine or interrupt service.
