CVE-2022-2192Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via Magic Link path tampering

Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Forced browsing in HYPR Server versions later than 6.10 through 6.15.1 allows remote attackers to elevate privileges using a recovery token. The Magic Link page authorizes a valid one-time recovery token without preventing path tampering, so a direct request reaches privilege-elevation functionality. Possession of an unexpired recovery token and network access to the Magic Link page are required; the published record does not identify the resulting privilege level.
