Reflected XSS via unescaped request URI attribute
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Tips and Tricks HQ WP Video Lightbox before 1.9.5 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted request URI. The plugin inserts $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] into an HTML attribute without context-appropriate escaping, so injected markup breaks out of the attribute. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator using an affected older browser to follow the crafted settings URL, exposing that session to script execution in the site's origin.
