CVE-2022-21877

Kernel information disclosure via array overread

Published Jan 11, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Windows Storage Spaces Controller allows local users to disclose sensitive kernel data via crafted input. The spaceport.sys driver insufficiently validates user-supplied data and reads past the end of an allocated array. Successful exploitation requires low-privileged local code execution; the disclosure can support a separate privilege-escalation chain but does not itself grant SYSTEM access.
