CVE-2022-21820Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated daemon crash via malformed protocol packets

Published Mar 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Memory corruption in NVIDIA Data Center GPU Manager before 2.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to crash nv-hostengine with malformed packets. The daemon detects an error while parsing a crafted DCGM protocol request but continues processing it, allowing packet fields to drive an invalid memory write. Network access to the host-engine listener and low privileges are required; exploitation can interrupt GPU monitoring or execute limited code in the daemon's security context.
