CVE-2022-21809Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file overwrite via path traversal

Published May 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Path traversal in InHand Networks InRouter302 3.5.4 allows remote authenticated users to upload or overwrite arbitrary writable files. upload.cgi_input appends the supplied filename to /tmp without rejecting traversal sequences, while an omitted type prevents upload.cgi_output from deleting the file. Access requires a valid web-interface login, and successful exploitation can replace any file writable by the httpd process.
