Unauthenticated code execution via unjoined receive thread
Published Jun 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Use-after-free in Anker Innovations eufy HomeBase 2 2.1.8.5h allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted network packets. The appsrv_server on TCP port 5000 cancels a receive thread without joining it, then frees shared resources that the still-running thread accesses. Repeated unauthenticated connections and disconnects accumulate delayed threads, enabling memory corruption and a crash or code execution.
