CVE-2022-21747

Local device crash via unchecked buffer boundary

Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in MediaTek imgsensor on Android 9.0 through 12.0 allows local users with System privileges to crash the device. The imgsensor component reads beyond an intended buffer because it fails to verify an input boundary; MediaTek has not disclosed the affected function or input field. Exploitation requires System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and affects availability only through a local device crash.
