Privilege escalation via missing origin validation
Published Feb 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Grafana 3.0-beta1 through 7.5.14 and 8.0.0 through 8.3.4 allows remote attackers to gain elevated privileges. The web middleware processes state-changing authenticated requests without validating the Origin or Referer host against the request host. Exploitation requires an authenticated Editor or Administrator to follow an attacker-controlled cross-origin request, which invites the attacker as a new high-privilege user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
