Cross-site scripting via unsandboxed proxy responses
Published Feb 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Grafana 2.0.0-beta1 through 7.5.14 and 8.0.0 through 8.3.4 allows remote attackers to execute script via proxy responses. Datasource, plugin-proxy, and backend-plugin resource handlers relay attacker-controlled HTML without a sandbox CSP, so browsers treat it as same-origin content. Exploitation requires a controlled or compromised HTTP backend and an authenticated user to follow a crafted proxy or resource link, exposing other data sources in the same organization.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
