CVE-2022-21686Network attack vector

Twig code execution via unescaped legacy layout

Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Code injection in PrestaShop 1.7.0.0 through 1.7.8.2 allows remote attackers to execute Twig code through a legacy back-office layout. The getLegacyLayout method passes portions of a legacy Smarty layout into Twig without escaping them, so injected Twig syntax is interpreted as template code. Reachability requires the back office to use the legacy layout; execution can read or alter data available to the Twig rendering context.
