CVE-2022-21683Network attack vector

Comment disclosure via globally scoped notification recipients

Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Information disclosure in Wagtail 2.13 through 2.15.1 allows remote authenticated users to read unrelated page comments via email notifications. The send_commenting_notifications method built thread_users from users with any sitewide comment relationship instead of filtering both relationships by relevant_comment_ids. Access requires prior comment or reply participation anywhere on the site; the resulting exposure is limited to comment content sent through notifications.
