CVE-2022-21673Network attack vector

Unauthorized data access via OAuth token forwarding

Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Information disclosure in Grafana 7.2.0 through 7.5.12 and 8.0.0 through 8.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve unintended data via API tokens. Grafana's data-source proxy forwards the OAuth access token of the most recently signed-in user instead of the supplied API token when Forward OAuth Identity is enabled. Exploitation requires OAuth, a supporting data source with forwarding enabled, and a usable API key, allowing access to data outside the token holder's intended authorization.
