Stored XSS via unescaped link attributes
Published Jan 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Stored XSS in Convos 6.49 through 6.51 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser via a crafted chat URL. The I18N.md link formatter converts text beginning with https:// into an anchor but fails to escape double quotes before inserting the URL into href. An attacker must be able to post a chat message, and a victim must render the stored message for autofocus and onfocus attributes to run the injected script.
