Unauthorized data modification via overlong NTLM hostname
Published Oct 18, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2026
Improper access control in Oracle Java SE 8u341, 8u345-perf, 11.0.16.1, 17.0.4.1, and 19 allows remote attackers to modify data. The Security component improperly handles overlong NTLM client hostnames, allowing crafted input to bypass intended access controls. Reachability requires a sandboxed deployment running untrusted code or an application that passes attacker-controlled data to affected Security APIs.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
