Denial of service in the Optimizer component of Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.29 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the server. Oracle has not disclosed the code-level optimizer error or the crafted input that triggers it. A low-privileged account with network access through a supported protocol is sufficient; exploitation hangs or repeatedly crashes the service without reported data exposure or modification.
