CVE-2022-21550

Code execution via Data Node integer underflow

Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Integer underflow in Data Node job processing in Oracle MySQL Cluster allows attackers to execute code as the service account. The job handler insufficiently validates user-supplied data, permitting an integer underflow before a memory write. Oracle rates exploitation as requiring high privileges, access to the attached physical communication segment, high complexity, and another person's interaction; cluster takeover can follow.
