High-privilege server denial of service
Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.29 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with high privileges to hang or crash the server. The affected locus is the Server: Optimizer component, but Oracle has not published the optimizer operation or input condition that triggers the failure. Exploitation requires network access over the MySQL protocol and a high-privilege account, and successful attacks interrupt database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
