CVE-2022-21504

System denial of service via premature socket close

Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Use-after-free in Oracle Linux 7 and 8 with UEK R6 Update 3 allows local users to cause system denial of service through a socket operation. __close_fd_get_file closes the file before deferred Binder work finishes using its retained socket reference, allowing the socket to be freed while still in use. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful exploitation interrupts system availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
