Data disclosure via defective XML signature validation
Published Apr 19, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2026
Improper access control in Oracle Java SE Libraries allows remote attackers to read protected data through vulnerable APIs. OpenJDK distribution advisories identify defective secure validation in bundled Apache Santuario XML-signature processing, but Oracle has not disclosed the failed check or code path. Exploitation requires untrusted sandboxed code or attacker-controlled data reaching the affected APIs and exposes data accessible to the Java deployment.
