Reflected XSS via unsanitized imported data
Published Jul 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected cross-site scripting in Import CSV Files for WordPress through 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim browser via imported CSV data. The plugin returns imported fields to a page without sanitizing or escaping them, and the import action lacks CSRF protection. Exploitation requires a victim to visit attacker-controlled content or otherwise process crafted import data; impact is script execution in the victim's browser with the victim's WordPress context.
