Denial of service in the MySQL Server optimizer in 8.0.28 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the server and modify data. Oracle has not disclosed the optimizer code path, crafted input, or incorrect operation that triggers the flaw. Exploitation requires a high-privileged account with MySQL Protocol network access and can cause a hang, repeated crashes, or unauthorized updates, inserts, and deletions.
