Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.28 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or repeatedly crash the server. The flaw resides in the Server Optimizer, but Oracle has not disclosed the optimizer operation or malformed input responsible. A highly privileged MySQL account with network access is required, and exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
