Unauthenticated code execution via NetworkServlet command injection
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Command injection in Advantech iView before 5.7.04.6469 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the NetworkServlet endpoint. NetworkServlet passes the backupDatabase backup_filename and runProViewUpgrade fwfilename values to system calls without adequate validation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs code as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.
