CVE-2022-21418Network attack vector

Authenticated data modification and server crash

Published Apr 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

An InnoDB flaw in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.28 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify data or crash the server. Oracle has not published the flawed InnoDB code path or the operation it performs incorrectly on attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires high privileges and high-complexity network access through a supported protocol; successful attacks can update, insert, or delete some accessible data and cause a hang or repeatable crash.
