Unauthenticated code execution via unvalidated filename paths
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Directory traversal in Advantech iView before 5_7_04_6469 allows remote attackers to read files or execute code via crafted requests. The NetworkServlet exportDeviceList and findCfgDeviceListDetailsExport actions use attacker-controlled filename paths in file operations without validation, while MenuServlet similarly trusts the getUserPrefMenuFragment page path. The export actions require no authentication and execute code as SYSTEM; the MenuServlet path requires authentication but exposes SYSTEM-context information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
