CVE-2022-21308

Code execution via Data Node heap buffer overflow

Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in MySQL Cluster 8.0.27 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through Data Node jobs. Data Node job processing copies user-supplied data into a heap buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires cluster-network access; Oracle reports high privileges and user interaction, while ZDI reports neither requirement.
