Data modification via array-index displacement overflow
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2026
Integer overflow in HotSpot in affected Oracle Java SE and GraalVM releases allows remote attackers to modify accessible data. A large index on x86-64 overflows the displacement in LIRGenerator::emit_array_address, producing access at an invalid array position. Affected releases are Java SE 7u321, 8u311, 11.0.13, and 17.0.1 and GraalVM 20.3.4 and 21.3.0; reachability requires sandboxed untrusted code or an application exposing the affected API.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
