Unauthorized data access via missing XMLEntityManager checks
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2026
Improper access control in Oracle Java SE 7u321, 8u311, 11.0.13, and 17.0.1 allows remote attackers to read a subset of accessible data. The JAXP XMLEntityManager implementation fails to perform required access checks while processing attacker-controlled XML entities. Exposure requires untrusted sandboxed code or an application, such as a web service, that supplies attacker-controlled data to the affected JAXP APIs.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
