Cluster takeover via Data Node array overwrite
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Memory corruption in MySQL Cluster affected releases allows attackers to execute code through malformed Data Node job data. The Data Node job processor fails to validate a user-supplied array index, permitting a write past the array boundary in the service account context. Oracle identifies 7.4.34 and earlier, 7.5.24 and earlier, 7.6.20 and earlier, and 8.0.27 and earlier as affected and rates exploitation as adjacent, high-privilege, high-complexity, and user-assisted; ZDI reports unauthenticated remote reachability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
