Code execution via Data Node job buffer overflow
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Buffer overflow in affected Oracle MySQL Cluster releases allows attackers to execute code through crafted Data Node jobs. Data Node job processing copies user-supplied data into a buffer without validating its length, enabling code execution as the service account. Oracle rates exploitation as adjacent-network, high-privilege, and user-assisted, while ZDI reports that authentication is not required.
