Code execution via Management API buffer overflow
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Oracle MySQL Cluster allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted Management API data. The Management API copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length stack buffer without validating its length, enabling execution as the service account. ZDI reports unauthenticated remote reachability, while Oracle rates exploitation as adjacent, high-privilege, high-complexity, and dependent on another person's interaction; successful exploitation takes over the cluster.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
