Code execution via unbounded serial-number formatting
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in TCL LINKHUB Mesh Wi-Fi AC1200 MS1G_00_01.00_14 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted packet. The ucloud_add_node_new handler passes the packet-controlled ManualNodeInfo serialNumMd5 string to sprintf without a length limit, overflowing a 128-byte stack buffer. Reachability requires access to port 9003 on the router-provided Wi-Fi; a 140-byte value overwrites the MIPS return address, enabling code execution or a crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
