CVE-2022-21184Network attack vector

Credential theft via plaintext license registration

Published Jun 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Information disclosure in Bachmann Visutec GmbH atvise 3.5.4, 3.6, and 3.7 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to steal website credentials. During license registration, the client sends the entered atvise.com username and password in a plaintext HTTP POST rather than a protected channel. The attacker must intercept that registration connection; stolen credentials grant access to the atvise website for software and license downloads, without affecting the host running the client.
