Unauthenticated service interruption via firmware buffer handling
Published Aug 18, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025
Improper buffer restrictions in Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi UEFI drivers before 2.2.12.22071 allow remote attackers to interrupt service. Intel has not published the affected firmware routine, the untrusted network input involved, or the incorrect buffer operation. Exploitation requires network reachability to a supported adapter's UEFI driver and causes availability loss without reported data disclosure or modification.
