CVE-2022-2104Network attack vector

Root access via passwordless web-account sudo

Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Improper privilege management in Sécheron SEPCOS firmware allows remote authenticated users to gain root access through the S-Web interface. The embedded Apache www-data account can invoke numerous sudo commands, including /bin/sh and /bin/bash, without supplying a password. An attacker must first obtain execution as www-data; successful escalation permits root-level control of relay configuration and operation.
