CVE-2022-20962Network attack vector

Authenticated system command execution via absolute-path upload

Published Nov 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Path traversal in Cisco Identity Services Engine 3.1 through 3.1p3 allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands. Localdisk Management accepts absolute path sequences in crafted HTTP upload requests and writes the supplied files to arbitrary filesystem locations. Administrative privileges are required; successful placement of malicious files enables access to the underlying operating system with system privileges.
