Administrator-browser script execution via unsanitized ERS parameter
Published Oct 26, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Reflected XSS in Cisco Identity Services Engine ERS API allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser. The developer_usecases.jsp and developer_usecases_python.jsp endpoints reflect the id parameter into responses without sufficient sanitization. Exploitation requires ERS to be enabled and an authenticated administrator to open a crafted link, exposing browser-based information and actions available to that administrator.
