Improper signature verification in Cisco Enterprise NFV Infrastructure Software before 4.9.1 allows local users to compromise the system. The upgrade-image validation path insufficiently verifies cryptographic signatures, allowing an unauthentic package to pass the intended trust check. Exploitation requires an administrator to upload the attacker-supplied file; successful installation grants full control of the NFVIS system.
