Root command execution via unchecked HTTP fields
Published Jul 21, 2022 · Updated Nov 1, 2024
Buffer overflow in Cisco Small Business RV110W, RV130, RV130W, and RV215W routers allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands. The web-based management interface copies insufficiently validated user fields from crafted HTTP packets without verifying that the destination buffer is large enough. Valid Administrator credentials are required; exploitation can run arbitrary commands with root privileges or restart the device, while WAN reachability also requires remote management to be enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
