CVE-2022-20896Network attack vector

Authenticated root command execution via malformed HTTP fields

Published Jul 21, 2022 · Updated Nov 1, 2024

Command injection in Cisco Small Business RV110W, RV130, RV130W, and RV215W Routers allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands. The web management interface copies user-controlled HTTP fields without adequate bounds validation, causing a classic buffer overflow. Valid Administrator credentials and LAN access, or enabled WAN remote management, are required; exploitation grants root command execution or restarts the device.
