Root command execution or restart via malformed fields
Published Jul 21, 2022 · Updated Nov 1, 2024
Buffer overflow in Cisco Small Business RV110W, RV130, RV130W, and RV215W routers allows remote authenticated users to run root commands. The web management interface insufficiently validates user fields in incoming HTTP packets, but Cisco does not identify the affected handler or copy operation. Valid Administrator credentials are required; the interface is always reachable from the LAN and reachable from the WAN only when remote management is enabled, and exploitation can execute root commands or restart the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
