CVE-2022-20873Network attack vector

Root commands or restart via unchecked HTTP fields

Published Jul 21, 2022 · Updated Nov 1, 2024

Buffer overflows in the web management interface of Cisco RV110W, RV130, RV130W, and RV215W allow remote authenticated users to run root commands. The interface fails to validate user-field lengths in incoming HTTP packets before copying those values into fixed-size buffers. Valid Administrator credentials and LAN access, or WAN access with disabled-by-default remote management enabled, are required; exploitation executes root-level commands or restarts the device.
