CVE-2022-20860Network attack vector

Controller impersonation via missing certificate validation

Published Jul 21, 2022 · Updated Nov 1, 2024

Improper certificate validation in Cisco Nexus Dashboard before 2.2(1h) allows remote attackers to intercept controller traffic. The SSL/TLS client accepts a crafted server certificate without validating it while connecting to APIC, Cloud APIC, or Fabric Controller. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position and grants access to sensitive data, including Administrator credentials, while permitting traffic alteration.
