Device reload via improper DHCP message processing
Published Sep 30, 2022 · Updated Nov 1, 2024
Improper DHCP processing in Cisco IOS XE Wireless Controller Software allows remote attackers to reload affected devices. The DHCP path mishandles malicious messages when DHCP TLV caching is enabled; Cisco has not disclosed which fields trigger the failure. The feature is disabled by default, and successful exploitation reloads the controller and interrupts service.
