CVE-2022-20813Network attack vector

Traffic disclosure and alteration via crafted certificates

Published Jul 6, 2022 · Updated Nov 6, 2024

Improper certificate validation in Cisco TelePresence VCS Expressway allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read or alter traffic. The certificate-validation path accepts a crafted certificate as the endpoint identity, letting an interceptor impersonate that endpoint. Exploitation requires a network position between communicating devices; successful interception exposes traffic in clear text and permits its contents to be modified.
