Service interruption via simultaneous device registrations
Published Jul 6, 2022 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Resource exhaustion in Cisco Smart Software Manager On-Prem 8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The device-registration handler incorrectly processes multiple simultaneous registration requests, exhausting resources until the service becomes unavailable. A valid authenticated registration context is required, and the documented impact is limited to loss of availability on the affected appliance.
